Background of the song
It was late last year that the song was composed. Mrs. Irish Jane Catane once brought the idea of writing a song that captures the experience of pain and finding comfort in the Lord. The experience of hopelessness and despair is prevalent throughout the Covid19 pandemic. Hence, the song was conceived and produced.
The song speaks of man’s insignificance and God’s sovereignty. It magnifies His Lordship and the purpose of His creations. It suggests a total surrender of humankind to the One deserving of all the honor.
Lyrics:
I’m caught up in chaos
Confusion in my mind
I see a glimpse of hope
But the darkness steals the light
This pain that strikes me
The suffering it brings
It makes me lifeless
And it made me ashamed
But You captured me
By Your grace, you set me free
Your love refreshes me
It is You who made the way
Oh, You’re Sovereign Lord
You work in ways more than I think
Your thoughts are higher
Your love is deeper
So now I trust in You
You were the Word
The Word that made flesh
You lived a holy life
And You died to save my life
You rose on a third day
The tomb can’t keep you in
You ascended to heaven
To reign and be our King
Yes, You captured me
By Your grace, You set me free
Your love refreshes me
It is You who made the way
Oh, You’re Sovereign Lord
You work in ways more than I think
Your thoughts are higher
Your love is deeper
So now I trust in You
Oh, You’re Sovereign Lord
You work in ways more than I think
Your thoughts are higher
Your love is deeper
So now I trust in You
So I live now for Your glory
I live to say that it’s not about me
I’m just a vapor, a puff in the air
Blessed be Your Name
So I live now for Your glory
I live to say that it’s not about me
I’m just a vapor, a puff in the air
Blessed be Your Name
You’re the God who gives and
the God who takes away
Blessed be Your Name
Blessed be Your Name
Blessed be Your Name
